3 contains a collection of recent collages assembled from found book pages and coloured paper in which the artist reinterprets Japanese houses. By altering key subjects in the images and obscuring texts and page numbers, the serene interiors and their blank environments function as a framework for non-existing wallhangings and sculptures.
Louis Reith creates serene worlds where abandoned shelters and tranquil objects represent an alternative history, where black and white interiors and exteriors are disrupted by bold geometric constructions. In his practice he aims to resist technology in favour of physical and craft-based techniques.
